Mrs. Karen Rose has been a Sarasota County educator for 19 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Youngstown State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. Her background includes elementary and middle school programming and leadership. In her spare time, Mrs. Rose enjoys boating and jogging with her husband, Dan and wheaten terrier, Ferris.

Mr. Glenn Wachter joins us from Booker Middle School where he was Assistant Principal for 6 years. Prior to that, he was an AP at Harllee Middle School in Manatee County for three years. Mr. Wachter taught science and environmental education for 13 years.

We welcome Mr. Wachter to Sarasota Middle School.

Ms. Paula Cimillo is our SMS Assistant Principal. Ms Cimillo grew up in Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!). She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in both Psychology and Special Education. She also holds a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from USF. For the past 13 years Ms. Cimillo has been a teacher, Liaison and Behavior Specialist. Ms. Cimillo resides in Venice with her daughter, Felicia.
