Mrs. Karen Rose has been a Sarasota County educator for 18 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Youngstown State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. Her background includes elementary and middle school programming and leadership. In her spare time, Mrs. Rose enjoys boating and jogging with her husband, Dan and wheaten terrier, Ferris.

Mr. Jeffri Durrance is a Florida native who has been in the SCSB district for 28 years. Mr. Durrance comes to Sarasota Middle School from Brookside Middle School where he was the Assistant Principal.

Mr. Mark Grossenbacher joins SMS from Heron Creek Middle School where he was an Assistant Principal. Mr. Grossenbacher received his BA from Wabash College in 1997 and a Masters of Education from University of South Florida. He is a professional trainer for the National Community of Caring organization and he is also a state certified trainer for the ‘Leadership Development for Teachers’ model. As an educator and coach he was a finalist for the 2000 Indiana State Track and Field Coach of the Year award as well as the 2001 Indiana University ‘Bill Armstrong Teacher Educator of the Year’ award.
Mark is married to Kim Grossenbacher and has a daughter Bailey and a son Ethan.
