ARTICLE REPORT
MAKE UP FOR PARTICIPATION CREDIT
An important part of making good decisions is keeping informed on the many topics related to a healthy and productive lifestyle. There are numerous ways to keep informed. This activity is to make you aware that there are many written sources available to you.
Find an article (or use the one given to you by the teacher) that discusses information about fitness, which includes nutrition, exercise, how you feel about yourself, stress management, staying away from drugs including tobacco and alcohol, and good decision making.
Report to the teacher in writing a one page description of this article in the following manner:
- Name, date, PE period, and attendance row go in the upper right hand corner of another piece of paper
- The first paragraph should report in your own words what the article is about. I don’t mean, “This article is about stress management. Tell me in general how the article is presented (story form, medical report, interviews, question and answer) and what information is discussed.
- The second paragraph should tell the reader at least three facts or concepts that you learned or found in this article. This will be done in sentence form.
- The third paragraph will tell the teacher if you like the article or not and why.
- At the end of your report, please let me know from where all this knowledge was gained –source, author, date of publication, page, website
OR
- Find an article as described above. Read the article. Ask 10 questions about the article and answer the questions that you asked. Both questions and answers should be in good sentence form.
- Return this page, your report and a copy of the article.
This will constitute the make up work (10 points) for one day you chose not to change clothes to participate in physical education activities.
